Islamic Extremist vs. Christian hypocrites

Isn't it amazing how the world makes excuses for Islam when it comes to extremist, saying that Islam is a peaceful religion and the extremist do not represent the majority of Islam (even though a quick study of the Koran shows the religion's foundation is steeped in violence, in particular toward the infidel, which by the way is anyone that does not submit to Islam). However, when it comes to Christianity the world judges the entire faith by a few hypocrites. Hmmmm... maybe there's something to that.

Why is it that a devout Hindu is seen as exotic... or a devout Muslim seen as sincere to his/her beliefs but a devout Christian is viewed as crazy?
