Forgiven...

If I believe that the One True God has forgiven me of all my wrongs then why is it so difficult for me to forgive another who has wronged me? This is especially true in matters of the heart, in which I now speak. You see, I tell others that I have been forgiven for all my wrongs, a forgiveness that is unmerited on my part. It is a forgiveness that is completed by perfect mercy, perfect love, and perfect grace. I have wronged God and broken His heart the same way in which my heart has recently been broken. Yet, He forgives me nonetheless and says I will remember your wrongs no more. And yet, I hold onto my anger, hurt and pain and refuse to let go, forgive and forget... I truly am a despicable wretch!

9/11 Nine Years Later

So we are almost nine years after the 9/11 attacks on Manhattan and D.C. Are we any safer? What has the "religion of peace" been up to over the last decade? Have they sought out peaceful resolutions to their issues, or have they brought on more bloodshed?

God’s Purposes in Difficult Times

Read | Romans 8:28-29

If we could design an ideal life, most of us would skip over times of hardship. But Scripture teaches us that God has purpose in the storms of life.

Cleansing. When problems press in on us, ungodly attitudes and habits tend to surface. Impatient behavior, a quick temper, or reliance on something or someone other than God may become
apparent. In a crisis, the bad habits we had ignored can show up in ways too obvious to overlook. The Holy Spirit will use tough times to smooth away our rough edges and produce the fruit of the Spirit in us (Gal. 5:22-23).

Companionship. When life is good, we may spend less time with the Lord and start taking our relationship with Him for granted. We may even drift off His chosen path. Crises help us see our need for Him as well as our inability to help ourselves. Hard times bring us to our knees in prayer and drive us to seek opportunities for His companionship.

Our heavenly Father’s desire is for us to develop Christ-like character and grow in intimacy with Him. He wants us to experience the richness of His love and wholeheartedly show Him devotion. He will use trials and difficulties to accomplish His good purposes for us.

Islamic Extremist vs. Christian hypocrites

Isn't it amazing how the world makes excuses for Islam when it comes to extremist, saying that Islam is a peaceful religion and the extremist do not represent the majority of Islam (even though a quick study of the Koran shows the religion's foundation is steeped in violence, in particular toward the infidel, which by the way is anyone that does not submit to Islam). However, when it comes to Christianity the world judges the entire faith by a few hypocrites. Hmmmm... maybe there's something to that.

Why is it that a devout Hindu is seen as exotic... or a devout Muslim seen as sincere to his/her beliefs but a devout Christian is viewed as crazy?

The Meaning of Christmas

In an era of political correctness it has become unfashionable to say Merry Christmas, and some would rather say "Happy Holidays". So, in saying "Happy Holidays", what holiday are we suppose to be happy about? It is because of "CHRIST"MAS children get vacation from school, and employees get a couple of days off work and business throw parties. Even the federal government has declared the birth of Christ a holiday. However, the celebration of Jesus Christ's birthday has become nothing more than a marketing campaign for retail businesses that celebrate a fat guy in a red suit that promises to bring children toys if they were good for the year. Which let's face it no child receives a lump of coal.

The ACLU has made it its mission to destroy any public display of symbols of Christianity. People have forgotten that the God that made every thing known and unknown, the stars we look at at night, the sun that warms us and every wonderful thing in this world decided to lower Himself and come here as a man for the sole purpose to die at the hands of His own creation so that His perfect justice could be satisfied. His birth in a manger gave all of humanity hope... Hope that we could have a relationship with Him. "He" is the reason for this season we celebrate. He is the Perfect Gift.

So, instead of being so self consumed by what we receive, why not find those people that are the broken, the least, and the last and do something kind for them? Not for our self interest or glory but to bring glory to the Son of God. He came to serve, so let's take His example and serve others this season. Then, lets not stop on the 26th of December but lets do it every day for the next year. Let's see how many lives we can impact and change. Are you up to the challenge?
